When life falls to pieces, make a quilt!

Custom Sewing Projects

I enjoy the challenge of specialized custom sewing projects. Some of the items that I have created include quilted wall hangings for a Head Start program that would help alleviate a sound problem. Three large (40"x84") quilts are hanging in each classroom and were made with Quiet Please batting to help absorb sound that was bouncing off of two-story-high inside walls.

Another challenge was to create realistic life size fish (a carp, a bass, and a catfish) for an educational display for the Bureau of Environmental Services, City of Portland, Columbia Slough Education Project. The fish, along with foam rocks, a full size hand-sewn dragon fly, and blue- green fabric for table covering, helped create a traveling educational display about contaminates in the food chain.

Please feel free to call to discuss a customized sewing need and refer others to me who may have an unusual sewing project. I am always interested in a sewing challenge!
